Kerala is a wonderful land with many spellbinding tourist places. Every year millions of tourists set their foot in Kerala, popularly known as “God’s Own Country”. The State Tourism department has taken a step further to add one more name to the long list of tourist places in the state. This new tourist attraction is supposed to be Mattencherry, a place at close proximity to Kochi port. This land carries the cultural heritage of the state and the officials are planning to spread the culture of the state to lands far and wide.
Giving a well detailed presentation showcasing the cultural heritage of Mattancherry, Professor N. Ramaswamy , Department of Architecture, said that the architect should be planned before this tourist season. Unfortunately, structure for this noble task has not been designed, however, with the co-operation and hand to hand work of people from various fields it is hoped that the structure will be designed in no time. The professor also suggested for a meaningful tourism plan and co- operation of the various communities settled in the area for the uplift of a cultural heritage site in Mattancherry.
Helping hands are coming from many sides for this great thought to come into picture. The MLA of the province has sanctioned 5 crore rupees for development of Mattancherry and Fort Kochi.
