Alcopop! Records signings Keg have shared new single ‘Skybather’ ahead of the release of their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Fun’s Over’ on 14 March 2025. The song is a celebration of one of life’s most simple yet pleasurable activities – bathtime.
Opening like a raggedy version of Roxy Music jamming with Neil Hannon’s The Divine Comedy – ‘Time to think, time to sink’ – the band grapple with the thought of getting out of the tub before lo-fi elements kick in and it heads into an art-rock sound. The press release mentions Cake as an influence but we also hear elements of Modest Mouse as the band sing heartily over the angular sound and then harmonise about how ‘there’s only one place I’d rather be now’.
