Singer Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were in Rome on Saturday for the United to Cure event held at the Vatican, and the couple got the opportunity to meet Pope Francis.
Perry was dressed in a black dress, and black pillbox hat with a bandeau veil for the event, where she also spoke. Katy’s mother and manager were also with the singer at the event.
United to Cure is an international conference on the cure for cancer.
The singer, who grew up in a Christian home, battled depression in recent years, and credits God for bringing her out.
“I do believe in something much bigger than me and I call that God for me,” she shared with Glamour Magazine. “I know that God has His hand on me, and I know sometimes I go through things and they’re just too intense and I can’t handle them and then He swoops in and He shows me that it’s His grace that brings me through it.”
