Reed announced his candidacy Thursday night with a birthday fundraiser at the home of singer Tyrese Gibson.
Mayor Reed held the position from 2010-2018. He was Atlanta's 59th Mayor.
Back in 2015, I had the opportunity to visit with the former Mayor's administration and learn what they were doing around data driven government. I witnessed a leader who operated with a spirit of excellence and required the same of his team.
Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta's current Mayor, recently announced that she was not running for re-election.
