In his first solo exhibition, artist and filmmaker Karim Zeriahen presents a multimedia exhibition challenging our concept of individual identity.
The exhibition features portraits of Zeriahen’s muses, La Contessa Cristiana Brandolini d’Adda, Julia Peyton Jones, Cecilia Bengolea, Victoire de Pourtales and Marie Donnelly. These five inspirational women of diverse eras exhibit strength, originality and freedom, enthusing Zeriahen to emphasize the leader inherent in each and everyone one of his viewers.
‘Give Me Light’ transforms the main room into a confessional with original footage of the iconic Kate Moss accompanied by a score by Henry Bennett. observing the idolization, the replacement of religious beliefs by the cult of celebrities, the loss of meaning and a persistent obsession of the individual.
It’s Taken Me All of My Life to Find You is exhibiting at Lazarides Rathbone until 10th May 2014 Tuesday to Saturday 11am-7pm, admission free.
