Karim Rashid's Office is Everything You'd Expect Karim Rashid's Office to Be

Think neon and graphic, pared down with stretches of white.

"I love white because it presents a sense of infinity," says industrial designer Karim Rashid, whose playful, biomorphic aesthetic tends to lean forward instead of look back. "It has no boundaries. If I could design a room, I wouldn't want corners." When the search for a new office led Rashid and his team of 20 to move into a Midtown storefront, part of a condo complex he helped design, Rashid sought to create a hive for creativity, raising the "physical, mental and physiological" aspect of the shared space. Rashid discussed his design philosophy with Dwell, explaining why he sought to create an educational gallery of his own work and how sound can become an intangible piece of design.
