Christian contemporary singer, Kari Jobe performed in Orlando, Florida the day before Hurricane Irma made landfall at the Christian music festival (Rock The Universe). Kari Jobe shared her experience at the event with Charisma News:
Jobe, who performed the songs “Forever,” “What a Beautiful Name” and “I Am Not Alone,” as well as singing with her husband, Cody Carnes, said there was “something special” about bringing the songs of worship outside of the walls of the church at Universal.
“You have people from all kinds of denominations, people who just want to connect with God. They love to hear about hope,” she said. “They love to be inspired. And I think that’s the kind of crew you get out here. And honestly, these are some of my favorite nights. People are just radical for Jesus. It’s awesome.”“More than just the music, I love that God brings healing, deliverance and breakthrough into our lives through worship,” she said. “We declare things. It’s like an exchange. We bring things we are walking through, and we are reminded that it’s bigger, God’s way higher and greater than anything we’re facing. And we declare truth over circumstances.”
Jobe also recently shared that while in Florida for 5 days because of Hurricane Irma, that the song “Peace Be Still” from her church, Belonging Co. debut album helped her.
Now this Irma storm -we’ve been in Florida for 5 days and just left early this morning. Had to cancel being in Myrtle Beach tonight. I feel like I’ve had to do more strategizing and decision making for weeks now and I am officially exhausted. THIS SONG “Peace Be Still” could not have come out at a better time. If you’re stuck fleeing from this storm, rebuilding from a past storm, or bracing for a current storm- put this song on repeat and let peace fill your heart, mind, homes and cars.
