Not that he ever really fades from the public’s conscious, but Kanye is definitely front and center since the release of Yeezus and today we have Chris Read’s excellent mixtape Kanye West: The Samples courtesy of the folks over at Who Sampled. Most of these tracks were used by Kanye in his early days around the time of his debut album and the mix is filled with a ton of killer soul and rare funk breaks. Chris Read is the fella who put together the Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde 20th Anniversary Mixtape (stream/download here) so you just know this one is gonna be good.
