Teased by Henry Cavill on the set, then by Zack Snyder a few months ago, the black costume in which Superman resurrects has been the subject of many fantasies on the part of fans disappointed by Justice League, who particularly regretted not not having seen him in the film released in theaters in November 2017. If the cut scene in which we saw him, in the background in the set, did not console them, there is no doubt that this very short teaser of the long version on which the director is currently working should make a difference.

Interviewed at the end of one of the trailers, this scene is revealed a little more and reveals to us the interlocutor of Alfred (Jeremy Irons), who is none other than Superman, in the black suit with which he resurrects. , like in comic books. An outfit whose color was obtained in post-production, as Zack Snyder explained in the Justice Con online convention in which he showed off these footage, specifying that they were shot with a version whose tint was easily changed. Despite the brevity of the ensemble, fans noted that the Man of Steel performer's face had not been digitally altered to erase all traces of facial hair: "You won't see any images of Henry Cavill with a mustache in my work", said the director.

Which also promised that none of the scenes boxed by Joss Whedon (which he did not himself choose to succeed him) would be present in his cut: "Let me be on fire if I use a single image that I haven't shot (...) If anything reminds you of the other version of the film - that I haven't seen - it's because I was the one who had turned it. " To support his remarks, Zack Snyder clarified that the villainous Steppenwolf would change his look to reconnect with the one teased in the long version of Batman v Superman. And that the bulk of his work was primarily focused on overseeing special effects, as the edit seen on HBO Max in 2021 will be the first he completed and presented to Warner in February 2017, before scaling it down. to try to come up with a version which ultimately did not see the light of day.

Or not yet, because the now famous Snyder Cut will give him the opportunity to bring his vision to fruition. And the director promised to say and show more at the DC FanDome on August 22, with new images, an official statement on its format (movie or mini-series?) And even a definitive title. Because if he would like his baby to be called "Zack Snyder's Justice League", as is currently the case, legal reasons prevent it. See you in a little less than a month, and who knows if, at that time, the filmmaker will give some clues about the presence, or not, of Green Lantern in this new edit, after having kicked in touch during of Justice Con.
