London Walks' Pen David
Tucker… leads a double life as London Walks' Lens…
Question: Why does this place have the
reputation of being gray and colourless?
Statement: Age cannot wither nor custom
stale her (London’s) infinite variety.
Paddy Power & Mr. Chen himself. Do combinations come any
more potent?
I wasn’t kidding.
Oh, that’s why. The reputation, I mean.
Notes: The yellow peril biker is the yellow
peril biker. The guards, young and old, came together to mark the 60th
anniversary of the Korean War. Mr. Chen is Mr. Chen. The future monarch is –
well, we’re all anxiously awaiting her or him. But it’s also, of course, a
bagatelle of uniquely British humour, tapping, as it does, into this country’s
rich compost of skepticism, lightness of touch, wryness, irony, fun, mockery,
history, tongue-in-cheekness, and the past. The sun-drenched brolly, bowler
hat, and purposeful stride is a bit of 1930s London whooping it up out on – and
compliments of – a Day Release Time Warp.
