Jungle Jamboree opened its door in September, 2014 and ever since has been the talk of the town. The themed restaurant has two parts one with a Jungle theme and the other with an aquatic theme. Situated inside the Gold Souk Mall, the place also has an open restaurant above these themed restaurants. We choose to sit in the Jungle Theme part which was surrounded by green ambiance all around, with the king of the jungle on the backdrop. Jungle Jamboree is known to bring the first 7 course buffet meal to India. Out of these 7 courses most of them are served on the table except for the Salads/Soups, Main Course and the Desserts.
The 7 course buffet also includes a mocktail. Tried the Virgin Mojito and the Aam Panna. The Virgin Mojito was refreshing and the flavors of the mint were well balanced. The Aam Panna was sweet, tangy as well as had the chili effect as well, great drink again. At Jungle Jamboree it is difficult to keep a track of the course as they keep coming in. We started off with the Raj Kachori inside Pani Puri, all the flavors of the Raj Kachori could be tasted in this Pani Puri, delicious. The Fruit Chat was good and so was the Tzaziki on Pita Bread. Jungle Jamboree serves a range of appetizers which are different than other traditional places.
For appetizers we had the Panner Tikka, a very spicy margination but good. The Dahi ke Kebab and Aloo Corn Tikki were also good. But the Soya Afgani Chaap was so so in terms of taste. The Veg Pizza was great, baked perfectly with good amount of sauce and vegetables. The Veg Shawarma was not that good as the Falafel was very hard. The Veg Dimsums were good went well with their hot sauce. The Salsa Potato was disappointing and could have been made much better. The Potato was too hard and was not fresh.
We went for the Main course and tried the Aloo Jeera, Matar Panner, Mushroom Hara Pyaaz and the Dal Makhani. The best was the Mushroom Hara Pyaaz. Also tried their Veg Noodles and Manchurian, both went comfortably together. The Veg Biryani was flavorful and delicious with the raita. There were more items but we had to give up somewhere to try their Desserts. Jungle Jamboree is known for its range of Desserts. The Moong Dal Halwa was incredible. The Hot Gulab Jamun just melted in the mouth and went well with the cold Vanilla Icecream. But the star of the buffet was none other than the Paan Icecream. The flavors of the Paan were intact and the icecream was delicious. Do try!
Jungle Jamboree had a mixed bag of items and we cannot expect all the items in the 7 course meal to be great. Overall the experience was great and the food was good. The outlet would soon be having a liquor license. The service was incredible and the staff members were friendly and warm. Had a great time interacting with Mr.Jayant. And hats off to Mr. Rahul for his hospitality.
