Josh Lucas has joined the cast of the faith-based film ‘The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother’s Faith and Her Child’s Resurrection.’
Lucas will play Brian Smith, the father of 14-year old John, who fell through a frozen lake in Missouri one winter and was proclaimed lifeless. Through prayer and faith, Joyce sat by her son’s bedside until his heart started beating again.
The film being produced by DeVon Franklin, is based on the true story of Joyce Smith’s account of her son’s miraculous recovery, which she detailed in her novel of the same name.Joyce Smith’s character is being played by This Is Us actress, Chrissy Metz.
Also set to star in the film are, Marcel Ruiz, Topher Grace, and Mike Colter.
