Mother’s Day done and dusted, I can’t quite believe March is on the brink of being done with too. Like guys, we’re a quarter way through the year already! I won’t lie, I had the obligatory ‘what am I doing with my life?!’ meltdown again, and now I’ve decided to spend this evening writing my 5 Year Plan and a list of treats, in a bid to curb my spending.
Daily life struggles aside, let’s get to something nice and superficial: yesterday’s outfit.
I bought this slip dress in the Topshop sale last year and it’s probably the last thing I’ve bought from them in a while. What’s with that?! (Moseys on over to Topshop.com for the sale…) I absolutely love it but I’d been saving it for a date night or a ‘good’ night out. I’m such a stickler for saving outfits for special occasions, but in reality, my life is far too occasion-less for thoughts like that. I tucked it in - fashion faux pas alert!! - to my leather-look leggings and swung on some little block heels for a barely-made-effort look, as my brother, sister and I decided to drive down to our family’s restaurant to surprise Mum for Mother’s Day. Oh First Gen Chinese kids life…
I feel like I’m in a rut at the moment. Everyone seems to be going places and moving up while I have direction, too many directions, and no means of doing things. I feel like I’m holding myself back for no reason, when I know exactly where I want to be. Half of the time I think it’s because I’m saving face to some extent, but I think I need to dig myself out and up, and try out my own plan for once. Oh hai deep Monday morning thoughts. (Can I pass this off as “I’m asking for a friend-“?)
… How was your weekend?! ;)
