The film on the Philippine-US war "Amigo", by acclaimed American director John Sayles, screens for a special limited engagement this March at Fully Booked High Street.
Schedule is on March 2, 16, and 30 (all Fridays) at 8 p.m. Tickets priced at P150 each can be purchased at the Customer Service Desk. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
"Amigo", nominated for nine awards at the 2011 Urian including Best Actor for Joel Torre and Best Director for John Sayles, tells the story of cabeza del barrio Rafael (Torre) who finds himself torn between protecting his community and appeasing the new American colonizers.
The film received accolades at the Asian American International Film Festival in New York, the Toronto International Film Festival, and major international filmfests in San Sebastian, Rio de Janeiro and Hawaii.
"Amigo" also stars Chris Cooper, Garret Dillahunt, DJ Qualls, Rio Locsin, Bembol Roco, Ronnie Lazaro, Irma Adlawan and Art Acuña. The motion picture is endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd).
