Last year Joe Manganiello’s Alcide Herveaux really began to come into his own as a character especially because he finally had to face the pack he had been surrupticiously avoiding since moving to Shreveport during season 4. There were also some pretty memorable scenes too. Who could forget the wild sex scene that required Kelly Overton (Rikki) to be on wires? True Blood season 6 is shaping up to be equally as steamy according to E! Online’s Marc Malkin who spoke with Joe about nudity on set this year.
Apparently, Alcide’s sex life is being brought to a whole new level with a threesome that takes place between himself, Rikki, and new werewolf Danielle (Jamie Gray-Hyder) Joe characterizes the three-way as crazy but one of the few perks being packmaster:
“This crazy wild three-way…is kind of the beginning and the end of all the perks of being a pack master. It’s the most thankless job in the world except for the random occasional three-way. It’s pretty intense. I think they looked at the footage from last year and thought, ‘Where do we go from here?’ And they figured it out.”
Hyder says that the cast and crew are accustomed to nudity on set so despite the intense scene, it is oddly comfortable:
“Everyone is accustomed to it, not only being naked themselves but being around other naked people on the set, [so] it’s probably surprisingly oddly comfortable”
Joe also joked with Malkin that he knows how to cut the tension in scenes like that:
“I just play some soft music, my voice drops a few octaves, I hit the jets on the Jacuzzi and start growling, baby!”
Oh yes Joe I can see you being a regular Issac Hayes!
