In addition to playing the hot running werewolf Alcide Herveaux this summer, Joe Manganiello will also be on the big screen starting June 29th in Magic Mike.But unlike Alcide who strips down to shift into a wolf, Joe’s character Big Dick Richie will be stripping for an entirely different reason. He’ll be doing it for women! And according to Joe, the Stephen Soderbergh film about male strippers is hilarious! Of course, when well muscled male actors have to spend the day dry humping female extras there has to be some kind of comedy in there.
Because the movie required the cast to keep in peak physical condition, there was a gym on set. Manganiello described the experience to Hollywood.com while attending a Duracell hosted Olympics event:
“There was a gym in the parking lot where we were filming all of the dance scenes, so sometimes during lunch break we would go over and work on it because when you have to be in that kind of shape for weeks at a time, you definitely have to go.” And like any good stripping crew, the cast worked out together. “Kevin Nash [of the WWE] would come over during lunch breaks. It was me, Kevin Nash. Adam Rodriguez was a gym rat. Matt Bomer works out a lot.”
