The leading job site in the Philippines has just announced the release of its new mobile app which promises a convenient alternative to online job hunting. According to JobStreet.com Marketing Director Yoda Buyco, the JobStreet.com mobile app was created to provide ways "to make career opportunities available anytime, anywhere."
Indeed, with more people around the world seeking jobs online, it's high time someone steps up and fills the need for an efficient and reliable job search tool.
So at an exclusive blogger lunch, Alouatta and Jobstreet formally introduced bloggers to the new and improved (version 3.0.1, yeah?) job search app!
Ms. Maricar Estrabo, Sr. Marketing Specialist at JobStreet.com Philippines, revealed that the app is such a success with Filipinos who love the mobile lifestyle. Currently, 65,000 Android users and around 60,000 iOS users have downloaded the app.
To see how user-friendly and reliable the JobStreet mobile app is, let's do a quick test run! Downloading the app is rather quick, and upon launch the app attempts to use the mobile user's location at once (as shown in the image on the left below). Hitting the OK button will automatically lead you to the map of the area you're in, and you will need to either sign up and create your own JobStreet account or just log in to your old one.
Once you're in, you'll be asked to enter your job preference so LiNa can automatically match jobs to you!
The app allows you to find jobs according to keywords and preferred salary, check for jobs found according to your last job preference, save jobs and even find jobs near you! If you have allowed the app to use your current location, you can just press the pin on the lower right portion of the Job Matches summary (as seen on the right below) to enable map view, so you can see all the available jobs within your area.
Once you've found a job you'd like to snag, you can apply for it right away, share it with friends, or save it for future use.
Isn't this app great? It's very user friendly, equipped with just the right tools to get you somewhere, and it's absolutely FREE! The only downside? The app has limited features as of the moment. I'm sure the app will be updated soon, though, and here's hoping that the app can let users upload/create resumes, and even allow businesses to post job listings!
