Jio New Recharge Plan: Unlimited Calling and Data for Rs 499 Only

Jio is the leading internet provider in India. Over time, the plans became more expensive compared to their previous plans. Ranging from a completely free internet offering to a minimum of Rs 199 for a single month.

Jio telecom network provides 4G and 5G network facilities all over India, and any increase or decrease in their prices directly affects the end consumer. The plans are so expensive that some users are not able to afford them, and data plans are forced on users without offering an unlimited calls only plan.

Jio Plans & Pricing

The same issue was raised with TRAI, which regulates telecommunication companies. On January 27, 2025, Jio, along with other major telecom providers, was ordered by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to introduce call-only and SMS-only recharge plans for users who don’t need data services. As a result, Jio launched new voice and SMS-only plans, such as the Rs 458 plan for 84 days and the Rs 1,958 plan for 365 days, offering unlimited calls and SMS but no data. This led to significant relief for the end consumer.

What Is Jio 1-year Recharge Plan

Presently, Jio offers a 365-day plan for ₹ 3499. You get unlimited calling with 100 SMS daily and 2 GB 4G data with unlimited 5G internet for a limited promotional period. You also get complementary access to applications like Jio Cinema, Jio TV, 1-year Amazon Prime subscription, or a 1-year Netflix subscription. The plan is expensive, and not everyone can afford this. Users have been demanding for years for a yearly call-only plan.

Jio to Introduce Cheap plans for 1 year soon

At users’ demand, Jio has decided to introduce a 1-year plan for users who can’t afford the previous yearly options. A plan that will only include calling and data only option with no internet option, and the second plan with only internet connection and SMS with no calling option will be introduced. This will reduce mobile costs significantly for people. The plans are expected to range between ₹800 to ₹900.
