Jim Henson's children Series 'Fraggle Rock' releases NFT trading cards

Digital collectibles based on the 1980s children’s show “Fraggle Rock” are being released by Tibles and the Jim Henson Company’s Flow blockchain.
Fantasy Muppet TV show fans can now interact with and collect digital trading cards of the show’s most popular characters through the Tibles Fraggle Rock iOS app and online.

The app includes a messaging component where users can connect with one another and trade virtual trading cards. Not only that, but it will ensure that followers always have fresh material to consume.

Tibles creates digital sticker game, Fraggle Rock

Fraggle Rock has been a beloved franchise for 40 years, and adults who grew up with the show are always looking for new ways to collect and enjoy their favorite characters, Melissa Segal, head of consumer products for The Jim Henson Company said.

Starting at $4.99, users can purchase digital collectible packs of five stickers to browse in a digital sticker book and use to decorate their virtual “room” within the app.

The v.p. of marketing at Tibles, Aaron Hickle, told CoinDesk that Fraggle Rock is a perfect fit for a collectibles game. Like thinking fondly back on a treasured childhood memory, fans are completely immersed in it. The timeless messages and themes are inspiring a new generation to become Fraggle Rock fans.

However, Hickle did say that Tibles will “continue to look for future partnerships,” so it’s possible that other Muppet characters could get their own NFT collections in the future.

It seems the show is attempting to appeal to a wider audience. The second season of the Apple TV+ remake of “Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock” will premiere in December 2022.
