Multi-skilled actor and painter Jim Carrey has published his 2nd non-fungible token (NFT) artwork, named Goon In Moonlight. Bidding beginnings on the digital art market SuperRare on Tuesday and will remain through Thursday.
With a fund cost of US$50,000, a quantity of the deal will profit World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit established in 2012 by idol chef José Andrés to give meals in the wake of natural tragedies.
Goon in Moonlight is a multimedia part incorporating Carrey’s skills in drawing, painting, digital animation, writing, and vocal accomplishment art.
“In the inevitable romance of moonlight, the Goon is condemned to recede from memories of missed loves and the misery of shame that can transform any one of us into something loathsome in our mind,” Carrey announced after minting the NFT Monday.
As an actor, the 60-year-old Carrey has starred in The Truman Show (1998), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), Bruce Almighty (2003), and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), among many other films.
Over the previous decade, Carrey has concentrated more on painting and drawing, something he’s exercised since his youth. He’s had various events and reported his love for art in the 2017 short movie Jim Carrey: I Needed Color.
In June, Carrey published his initial NFT, Sunshower, on super rare. The digital artwork was generated in collaboration with filmmaker David Bushell and established on his painting of the same name.
It traded for nearly US$105,000 (62.04 Ethereum) with 21 bids, with revenue benefiting Feeding America, a nonprofit organization with a national network of more than 200 food banks. The buyer, known as @deekaymotion on the metaverse, is a maker, animator, and administrator from South Korea living in New York.
“We are beyond delighted about Jim Carrey’s following drop on SuperRare,” John Crain, SuperRare co-producer and CEO, explained in an announcement. “As a visionary artist and actor, it’s amazing to discern the development of his artistic career.”
Bidding for Goon In Moonlight begins at 3:00 p.m EST.
