Jet Washing: Get Your Home Or Garden Ready for Spring!

Posted on the 23 April 2024 by Bboj Handyman

Pressure washing a patio or exterior of a property is one of the quickest and most cost-effective way to refresh the look of your outdoor space. Over time, patios, masonry, and brickwork can become dirty and gather moss, which can make the area look tired and untidy. In order to keep your outdoor space looking its best, pressure washing the area once a year will keep everything looking fresh and clean.

When is the best time of year to pressure wash a patio?

People tend to spend the most time in their gardens and outdoor space in the spring and summer, so to enjoy this time to its fullest it is always a good idea to pressure wash patios and other outdoor areas in the spring time. Additionally, with the warmer temperatures, the water from the pressure washing will soon evaporate, leaving you with sparkling patio slabs without any worries about the water freezing, which can happen during the colder months.

What else can you refresh with pressure washing?

You can pressure wash various materials on the outside of your home and in your garden to freshen their looks. Pressure washing works effectively to clean vinyl, bricks, or stucco, and can also be used to help clear your gutters or clear out moss growing on your driveway. Garden furniture can also be pressure washed to clear away the dirt and grime from years of use or brighten it up after being left out over the winter months.

For the cost of a single visit, BBOJ’s team of experts can help you clean and prepare your entire garden, pressure washing patios and exterior walls to clear the debris, fixing grout between tiles, and much much more.

Will jet washing get rid of weeds?

If you have weeds growing through the grout then the grout has become damaged and you should remove the weeds by hand and have the paving stones regrouted. Pressure washing the already damaged grout, could cause it to further degrade and make it easier for weeds to grow back in the future.

What is the difference between pressure washing and jet washing?

Jet washing is the process of spraying heated water to remove dirt and other surface materials, whilst pressure washing tends to be spraying room-temperature water on surfaces. Because of the heat, jet washing can more easily break down materials formed on top of hard surfaces and tends to be best to clean pavements, fences, decks, and driveways. Meanwhile, pressure washing is more often used to clean concrete surfaces, vehicles, and buildings.

Some people use the terms interchangeably, and many of the same tools can be utilised for both purposes, but there is a small difference!

At BBOJ, we have been working with homeowners to transform people’s gardens as well as their homes for years.
