Novia Scotia-based Jennah Barry has shared the video for ‘Big Universe’ ahead of the release of her second album ‘Holiday’ on 27 March via Forward Music. Produced by Colin Nealis, the album follows an unexpected career break due to Jennah having vocal surgery and the nine tracks find her ruminating on the mundane routine of everyday life – albeit one that has been livened up by big events like the aforementioned surgery, building a house and giving birth…

Laced with acoustic strums and sublime strings, ‘Big Universe’ has a country-folk feel with elements of Jenny Lewis, The Ronettes and even some M. Ward-style guitar noodlings as Jennah considers how we all have the tendency to be ‘making mountains out of nothing nice’ as she searches for a higher power. She continues to question the way of life (‘All confusion ties you up in knots. Always turning, never stops’) before settling into a ‘what will be will be’ state with genteel ‘ohh, sha, la, la’ backing vocals.
