Jean Paul Gaultier: Haute Couture 2012/13

Jean Paul Gaultier
did not disappoint with a beautiful collection of turn of the century, Art Deco and Indian inspired fantasy clothes at Paris Fashion Week.

Stunning colours, draped dresses in gold, fur & texture to die for, layers of lux, corsets, beads and much much more. This is Haute Couture!

I have not included the menswear but that was pretty impressive too: Firstly the Haute couture shows dont usually include mens fashion on the catwalk. Secondly the styling with tail coats, top hats, velvet trousers and 3 piece suits for both sexes added a bit of turn of the 20th century chic. The whole collection had me harking back to a time when glamour and affluence was key, when travel was all very new and exciting, when india was inspiring the world with its fabric and spices and colours! When English Gents and there fair ladies would set sail in search of exotic romance and adventure.

A beautiful collection from one of the best fashion designers out there - JPG. I really hope that this style trends and that we will be shopping the look in the highstreet too, because i want a piece!

xoxo LLM
