Lifestyle Magazine
I'm not usually one to do favorites posts, however I've been loving a few things lately that I wanted to share with you guys! If you have anything you've been liking lately, feel free to leave me a comment letting me know so I can check it out! Hope you enjoy this post. xx
1. The Kooples Jeans: Ever since coming to France, I've become more appreciate of a) the selection of things America has and b) the significantly lower prices. I have been looking for a good pair of waxed style jeans for quite some time, but for some reason never went for the popular J Brand version. I was reminded of my search for a good pair when I started seeing them more often here, often styled with chunky knits and boots. While out and about with my mom in Rennes over winter break, we went into The Kooples and I came out with the perfect pair of black waxed jeans! They're somewhat stretchy and they fit completely true to size- I'd definitely recommend them!
2. Russh Magazine: When I was in Paris, one stop my sister, my mom, and I took was a trip to Colette department store. I would describe it as a mix between Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys, but it's even on another level. After cringing at the clothing prices, we walked around the gadget and book section, where I found Russh Magazine. I saw a picture of the cover on Tumblr, which is how I recognized it. I just had to pick it up after perusing through the beautifully photographed/style editorials. It is kind of a pricy magazine, but it's definitely worth it if you're in the market for a fashion focused magazine that has awesome fashion photography. 3. The Giving Keys: My best friend Allison has always been one to give me creative gifts, but I think this one might be my favorite thus far. Not too long ago, she received a necklace from her grandmother- specifically from The Giving Keys. Each key was once used for some other purpose, and transformed into a necklace with a phrase engraved in it. The idea is that you give the key to someone you think is in need of it or that it would be useful to, and if so compelled, they can pass it onto someone they think needs it more than them. I was given "Inspire" by Allison, and every time I look at it, I remind myself to keep working towards my goals, no matter how overwhelming they may seem right now. The Giving Keys also provides work to those wishing to transition out of homelessness, which in itself is commendable. I simply love the concept and there's also a more in-depth story over on their website if you want to check it out! 4. Winter Candy Apple by Bath and Body Works: So around November or so, my mom sent me a boat load of things in a care package, and a set of winter candy apple scented products was included! Something I've missed while being here is definitely the different seasons of scents at B&BW. The scent is in harmony with the name, as the apple is quite strong but it has hints of other sweetness that I can't put my finger on- I'm clearly a pro at describing scents (jk). I'm not sure if you can still buy it at this point in the year, but here's a link to it on Amazon.
5. Deborah Lippmann Nail-polish in "Luftballoons": Before Christmas break rolled around, I made a few purchases on Sephora for my mom to bring with her from the States, and by chance, this nail polish was a 100-point perk at the time. I've always been a sucker for Deborah Lippmann's glitter nail polish, ever since I laid my eyes on the gorgeous shade "Candy Shop". However, I do have to admit that this mini-size polish in particular is a bit clear, and takes about two or three coats to become opaque. In addition, being that glitter polish is a pain to take off, I usually wear this color as an accent nail and it is a lot easier to maintain.
