My book of the Month for January
In 2019 I realised I'd become one of those people who finishes every book they start, whether they're enjoyable or not. Hence the number of 1 and 2 star reviews. I decided to change things this year and start to DNF (did not finish) books if I'm not enjoying myself 50-pages in. Life is short and I have too many books to read to waste my time with a dud. Here are the titles I DNF'd in January.
To be clear, I won't pick up or read any of these titles again.
The one exception is Russka by Edward Rutherfurd. I love his books but this audio version didn't work for me. The chapters are five or six hours long and I can't listen to an audio for that long in one sitting. I often had to stop halfway through a chapter to pick it up the next day. This made a disjointed experience so I gave up. I will read a physical or digital copy at some point.
