Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board NOC

Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board is a statutory body established under the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Areas (Protection of Environment) Act, 1992.

The main functions of the Board are to regulate pollution caused by industrial activities, construction, mining, domestic wastes etc., in all the municipal areas of Jammu & Kashmir State.

Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board (JKPCB)

The Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board (JKPCB) has issued a NOC for setting up a small unit for manufacturing of solid waste management and treatment plants.

The JKPCB has been entrusted with the task of ‘development and implementation of Solid Waste Management (SWM) in the state, according to the order. SWM is one of the key components of integrated solid waste management (ISWM). The order said that “the proposal has been approved by all concerned departments and empowered officers have been designated as per their respective posts”.

Objectives of J&K Pollution Control Board

  1. To prevent pollution of air, water, land and another environment

  2. To control pollution by wastewater and solid waste

  3. To control discharge of sewage into rivers, lakes, canals etc

  4. To control discharge of industrial effluents into rivers, lakes etc

  5. To provide proper treatment to garbage before disposing it in a safe way

  6. To provide proper treatment to industrial effluents before discharging them into rivers, lakes etc.

How to Obtain Jammu Kashmir Pollution Control Board NOC

If you are planning to travel from jammu kashmir to any other state of india or outside, then it is mandatory that you obtain a no-objection certificate noc from the pollution control board. This noc will allow you to enter into the state of Jammu and Kashmir.


The process of obtaining a noc is quite simple, but there are some points that one should keep in mind while applying for this.


One can apply for a no objection certificate on their own or through an agent. In case, one wants to apply for a no objection certificate on their own, they have to submit their application form along with all required documents and documents related with their trip.


If one wants to apply through an agent, then they have to pay the required fee before sending their application form. After paying the fee one has to send all required documents along with application form along with all required documents related with their trip along with passport size photographs. The agent will then send back your application form along with all required documents along with passport size photographs after which you will receive your NOC.

  3. Plant layout plan, showing stack, drains, green-belts, solid waste-disposal space and details of pollution control space etc.

  4. Registration of Industries department/J&K Govt./Govt. of India

  5. Details of manufacturing process and flow sheet.

  6.  Industrial Project Report.
