Dr. Jamal Bryant, NCBCP President, Melanie Campbell, National Co-chair of the Women’s March, Tamika Mallory, National Action Network and other Civil Rights Leaders were arrested in Washington, D.C. Tuesday afternoon.
The group was arrested as they protested outside the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan’s office.

According to the dogonvillage, they were demanding “a clean Dream Act, a permanent solution for Temporary Protected status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) and protecting the Diversity Visa Program that is more inclusive of Black immigrants.
When Speaker Ryan refused to open the door the group started praying, and that’s when they were arrested according to Pastor Bryant.

Other leaders arrested were Jonathan Jayes-Green, UndocuBlack, Minister Kirsten John Foy, and Rev. Tony Lee.
