Jacob Hopkins Talks To The Hollywood ReporterThe youngest actor, Jacob Hopkins (Alexander Drew), on the HBO show True Blood took time to talk to The Hollywood Reporter about this past Sunday’s bloody scene that happened in this show.  Jacob is only nine but his character Alexander is one of the oldest vampire alive and is also a member of the Vampire Authority.

In this past week’s episode Roman discovers there is a traitor in his group of leaders.  While many viewers probably expected it to be one of the older, shadier looking people in the room, it turned out to be Alexander.  Of course this turns into a heated exchange between alexander and roman.  That is when Alexander meets the true death by being staked by Roman.  Here is what Jacob had to say about playing a villain.

“I think it’s cool sometimes to be the villain.”

Now Jacob’s acting coach was his father who helped him prepared for his final, bloody scene.  Jacob was just as shocked when he found out that he was going to be the traitor of the group.

“I didn’t really know.  It really surprised me because I didn’t think that I was going to be a traitor on the show.”

Now why did he play his character the way he did for his final scene?

“I didn’t think Alexander was suppose to be scared because he is suppose to be a really old an wise vampire.”

He was also told all of the details of the death scene by the special effects crew and director of the scene and one of the best moments he had was to touch the pile of blood and guts that was used for after his character has been staked.  Jacob said he wasn’t scared of shooting the gory scene.

“We had done so much preparation and I knew what was happening before we shot it, so to me it isn’t like what the viewers really see.  I got to touch the stake to and even though it looks real, it’s rubbery.”
