Itinerary & Expenses for Vientiane, Laos Trip

By Wanderingjoshua
I was only able to stay in Vientiane during my short stay in Laos. I wish I had more time, I will come back to visit Luang Prabang and Phonsavahn (hopefully) in the future.
Itinerary & Expenses for Vientiane, Laos Trip
Here is the itinerary and expenses during my short 3 days and 2 nights trip to the capital of Vientiane:
*8,050 kip = 1 USD
300,000 kip - Accommodation
186,000 kip - Food and water
27,000 kip - Postcards
55,000 kip - Souvenirs
70,000 kip - Transportation
50,000 kip - Airport transfer
3,000 kip  Entrance to go up the Patouxay
5,000 kip - Entrance for Si Saket
5,000 kip - Entrance for Ho Phra Keo
5,000 kip - Entrance for That Luang
300,000 kip - Check-in baggage
1,006,000 kip - Total expenses for 3 days and 2 nights
Vientiane was a very laid back city with not a lot to do, but I liked it that way. The days were slow and the people just as relaxed. Vientiane was the last stop during my 10 days, 3 countries trip. I won't try doing this again because the flying to and from places in a short amount of time was just too tiring.
It was really cool that I got to hitchhike along with other fellow travelers when we all headed out of the airport. There was this nice expat (I assume) who gave us all a lift. There was me, three Malaysians, and two Russians. He immediately knew I was Filipino, which was cool.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival
Ho Phra Keo
Si Saket
That Dam
Presidential Palace
Vientiane City Pillar Shrine
Wat Si Muang
Wat Mixay
Ong Teu Temple
Inpeng Temple
Sithan Neua Temple
Wat Chan Temple
Day 2
Patouxay
Pha That Luang
It is easy to walk to all of the places in day 1 of this list, but it takes quite a while to get to Patouxay and much longer to get to Pha That Luang if you walk. There are lots of restaurants along the Mekong River where you can eat.
