Today marks the end of our Atlanta chapter. We're officially packed up. Our house is empty. Our hearts are sad. And yet, were excited for our new chapter to unfold in Chicago. I wanted to take a little big of a backseat from your average blog post to share really what it means to be away from home for the last three years and what it means to be going back. What have we learned in three years? The one thing that has really stood out for both Zach and myself are the words we hear so often but never really took the time to understand it's true meaning.
It Takes A Village.
When we moved to Atlanta, we knew absolutely NO ONE. It was truly such an intimidating time in our lives to pack everything we owned, travel from Chicago to Atlanta and live in a tiny apartment for a few months to get settled. Lily was only 14 months old and making Mom friends at the time was a little difficult for me. I decided that it was time to go back to work because being a SAHM wasn't really for me at the time and I was missing the social interaction with adults. During that time, I loved meeting and getting to know so many locals of Atlanta and those that had loved growing up in the south. Those co workers turned into some amazing people who really helped shape me, help me grow in the field, threw me an incredible baby shower when we found out we were pregnant with Landon and had some great happy hour moments.

After we found our perfect home in the Atlanta suburbs, we also were greeted with some hysterical and supportive neighbors. They've seen us at our best and our worst with bringing our family from three to four and our moment of day drinking in a kid pool while Lily took a nap one hot summer day. #ParentingWin you guys ha! Our neighbors are the best and always helped us at a moment's notice if we needed help watching the kids, grabbing a few things we forgot or just coming up to enjoy a home cooked meal. Neighbors like that come once in a lifetime.

Friends. If you would have told me that the amount of friends we had made over the last three years would make such an impact on us..well, we hit the jackpot with them. These friends made sure we were welcomed with open arms. We were invited to family gatherings, traveled to various locations like Harry Potter World and St. Simon Island, celebrated huge milestones with us ( both Zach mine 30th' birthdays ), came over for numerous Super Bowl parties, BBQs or just any reason to gather on weekends. We loved our play dates with our kids, our time at various festivals in the Atlanta area and learning the slow, southern way of taking our time to get anywhere or just be in the moment with everyone. These friends grew into family and truly, will always be.

Business even took a huge turn for me. When we moved, I was still blogging here and there but never looked at it as a business until a friend convinced me really think of it as one. Starting in 2015, I relaunched my blog and put myself out there to share more creatively. I began to make a few blogging friends, something I was too scared to do before and soon, had a huge tribe of girls I could talk too, bounce ideas, attend so many incredible events and best of all, they supported and UNDERSTOOD the ups and downs of blogging. I came home excited, inspired and truly feeling my best with these fellow blogging babes. I hope they know how much it meant and know we'll stay in touch, regardless of the miles.
Whats my point in this post you ask? Well, I'm attempting to not become super sentimental ( because the tears have already begun to flow ) but just that it truly, takes a village, to help and grow a family into being the best people and group they can be. So, if I've met you three years ago, three months, week or seconds..however it came about, I ( or rather we ) can't thank you for everything. Atlanta will always huge a hold piece of our heart with us. It truly felt like home that we had never known before. It grew up into a stronger couple and a better family. And it helped us realize, the love, the trust, the importance of having a village surrounding you, no matter where you are. Let's all take that leap and make a huge splash. Your village is waiting.
