It’s Time to Levitate

By Rohit Dassani

Levitate is one of the newest microbrewery located in JP Nagar, Bangalore right opposite Vega City Mall. This brewpub is based on the concept of levitation of objects. Spread over 3 floors with 2 floors under open roof. The bar is the main highlight of this outlet taking the center stage. The interiors are well done and the place really lights up after dark. They recently started with their microbrewery and serves 5 different types of brewed beers.

We tried couple of cocktails here like the Blood Orange and Tonic and Kentucky Flower. The Blood Orange was filled with Orange juice along with tonic water. The Kentucky Flower was made with the use of elderflower syrup and apple caviar. Both the drinks were delicious.

When it comes to food Levitate has a lot to offer. The Watermelon Green Salad had a variety of greens with watermelon and feta cheese. The combo was good. The Rava Upma Cheese Balls was a unique dish made with Upma and cheese inside. The cheese just melted as we ate, and the taste was amazing. The Baked Skin Potato was filled with spinach, salsa and sour cream. It was a perfect bite size snack. The Tikka Ball Paneer was filled with different masalas and served with green chutney. The tikka balls were a bit salty and dry for me.

The Paneer Lollipop was probably the best item on the menu. Paneer were deep fried in a batter and are served like a lollipop with schezwan sauce. Loved it! The Pizza Rustica had olives, spinach and sundried tomatoes. It got over in no time! The Spaghetti Aglio E Olio was filled with green chillies, garlic and veggies. Delicious! Lastly, we had the Vietnamese Loaded Fries filled with hoisin, sriracha and garlic mayo. It was topped with peanuts which made it irresistible. Awesome, is an understatement for this dish.

When it comes to desserts Levitate has a wide variety. We kicked off with the Levitate Signature Cake. It was basically a chocolate cake with gems. It was good, if not great! The Vanilla Crème Brulee was perfect. The burnt sugar just formed an amazing crust on the top. The Milk Chooclate Dome was a dome shaped chocolate filled with chocolate mousse inside. The choco combo was deadly. But, we loved the Snicker Praline with bitter chocolate icecream. A great combo of milk and bitter chocolate flavors.
