‘It’s Shocking… Will Protest’: Smriti Targets CM Over Liquor Policy

The Iranian Union Minister on Friday targets Delhi’s new Excise Policy and said it was “surprisingly because the curve of liquor was opened near schools and religious places”.

Speaking at the virtual general meeting held by Delhi BJP, he claimed that the Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kelamwal, “the leader who talked about Swaraj and wrote in his book about the picketing Liquor Shops and turned it off, now exploring the liquor stores in each ward”.

Iran said that BJP will continue its protest until the policy is withdrawn. “The Kejriawal government has provided a message to the public, that he is ready to benefit. I want to ask the AAP government to be answered for the family to be destroyed in this search … if the money obtained through liquor can help in development,” he said .

Deputy Minister of Manish Sisodia said previously said that liquor stores had not increased in Delhi – in 2015 there were 850 liquor stores, and under new excise policies, only 501 opened.

Irani claims the liquor store is open close to Gurdwaras in Tilak Nagar and that they endanger women’s safety.

New policies have seen the Delhi government out of business selling liquor, redistribution of stores throughout the city, and collection of excise opinions in advance. Three MCDs, which were ruled by BJP, through the blessing of several liquor stores for alleged violations of the master plan and other norms in recent months.
