As farmers know, cows are very sensitive creatures. They need to be treated just right, even cajoled with soothing music, their companions surrounding them, and the gentlest hands milking them tenderly, in order to give their best. A Swedish company, Designers DeLaval, has come up with what's obviously a winner: take a look at some happy cows....
The Swedish company has already sold 300 of its Cow Wash Machines and is now introducing them in Britain, where this video was made....
These are some happy cows and, according to U.S. studies, they are healthy too. The bristles not only clean them, but stimulate circulation which keeps the cows calm. Cows washed by the machines were 34 percent less likely to get clinical mastitis, which leads to abnormalities in the quality of their milk supply. They also produce more milk - 3.5 percent more.
