February has been a good month, though a pretty slow-paced one. I’m getting tired of cold and snow, and thankfully the weather is starting to cooperate. This weekend the husband and I are heading to Miami for some sun & beach time. Then in 3 weeks I head to Wisconsin – back to the cold – to spend a week with my sister, who’s having surgery.
I should be working on homework for my class on educational assessment – but I’m probably not.
It’s the last Monday of the month, so here’s my February wrap-up. In February I posted these reviews:

I spent most of the month reading Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch. I’ve read about 80% at this point – it’s a long book. To be honest, I’ve struggled a bit, loving this book some of the time and hating it other times. The main character, Theo, is really difficult to like. Still, it’s a powerful story. This is a book people are raving about, but I’m just not sure.
What’s next?
Recently I started reading Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. This is an intense book about a teenager who plans to shoot another student and then kill himself. I feel like I shouldn’t like this guy, but I really, really do. So far. I have to say this book has really gotten me thinking about what it’s like to be a teenager and an adult, and what it means to be happy.
After that, I’ll be looking for something a little lighter. I recently bought Mindy Kaling’s book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Will McIntosh’s Love Minus Eighty. Two others I’m thinking about are This is Paradise by Kristiana Kahakauwila and Insurgent by Veronica Roth. And finally, my Classics Club Challenge Book is The Trumpeter of Krakow by Eric P. Kelly.
Challenge Update: I read Skippy Dies and Kindred for the TBR Pile Challenge. Skippy Dies also counts towards the Around the World Challenge.
