It’s May Already!!!

By Ceemac126 @PGCBlogging

Seriously, this month snuck up on your friendly neighborhood blogger.  I was on the sick and shut-in list thanks to the runny nose of my 2-year old great-nephew.  How can the smallest person in the house make the most noise AND have germs that can reek havoc on the lives of 3 adults?  I’m sorry for my absence from the blogosphere, but I was a victim.  Let me catch you up on the Brotherhood Summit, the National Harbor’s Wine & Food Festival, and a foreclosure prevention workshop sponsored by the Attorney General’s Office where you can actually get financial relief.

National Harbor Wine and Food Festival
This weekend is the National Harbor’s Wine & Food Festival.  I have obligations and can’t attend but would love for you guys to go out and post away about it.  All the advance tickets are gone but there is on-site registration from 1pm–6pm; tickets are $45. Includes a souvenir wine glass, unlimited samples, all performances and cooking demos.  Chefs Scott Drewno of  Wolfgang Puck’s The Source and Rahman “Rock” Harper of Fatshorty’s are two of the many presenters.  There are all kinds of tastings and live music on three stages.  I really wish I could attend.

William H. Johnson Ice Cream Stand
Please attend the Brotherhood Summit sponsored by the State’s Attorney Alsobrook’s  office.  It takes place this Saturday May 4th on the campus of Bowie State University, from 8:am to 3pm.  That Bowie State has been the hotspot as of late: First Lady Obama, Angela Davis, now this.  The keynote speaker for the day will be nationally-known Judge Greg Mathis who was once a juvenile offender and rose to be a judge in the state of Michigan. Former NFL All-Pro and DeMatha graduate Brian Westbrook will share his story with  attendees.  The Brotherhood Summitt is in need of volunteers, mentors, and life coaches.  If you think you can positively impact the life of a young man, please volunteer.  It doesn’t take much.  The Brotherhood Summit is open to young men ages 13 to 18.  Registration is required for all participants. Call Ola Hill at 301-952-5370 or e-mail her at [email protected]. Hurry – space is limited!
