It is the Little Things That Matter!

By Chaayen
Krftd must sound familiar to some of you. That's because we got baby's husk pillow from them (Read our reveiew here!). Krftd  also sell cushions, placemats and home fragrances. Since we were so pleased with the husk pillow, we decided to check out their home deco products this time round.
We did have the option of making cushions out of the fabrics for baby's husk pillow (FYI, they now have new designs! It is so cute that it makes me want to have #2). However, after much thoughts, the Hubs was quite against the idea because he wants to contain the cute baby items and not let it spillover and contaminate our Scandinavian theme house.

Most cushions come in a squarish shape, but Krftd offers a lumba rectangular shaped as well. After watching tons of house deco shows and a friend who works in home deco designing, I like to think I have gained quite a bit of knowledge. I was after a bit of variation to give the home some gradient and some pop of colours. Most people would think that you can't break the natural/ woody colours of a Scandi theme, but that makes a home very dull-looking.
After popping in some cushions, the living room seem to come alive. My parents and friends commented the house is now looking a lot more homey. Krftd's cushions are tight yet fluffy. I love the tiny details they put in (Check out the leather tassel at the zipper). The covers kept both its colours and shapes when machine-washed. You can get 4 nicely stuffed cushions at less than $150 (depends on design and whether you need the stuffing)

The placemat at Krftd ($16 for 2 piece) is also quite intesresting. Unlike the normal plastic, they are made of recycled felt and can effectively take heated food better. We were initially concerned about removing the stains on it. I would say it is not as easy as removing from plastic but it is not as difficult as expected.
Comparing coasters and placemat, I think placemats make the kitchen look a bit more poshed and westernised. However, we always share servings (like typical asians) so most of the time, the placemats are in the middle of the dining table. The placemats are also quite waterproof, so liquid doesn't soak through them and spoil the table. Currently, the designs at Krftd is quite limited, hopefully they will have more in the future!
