(New York) At least five people died in Tropical Storm Isaias which swept through the eastern seaboard of the United States on Tuesday, and hundreds of thousands of people were still without electricity on Wednesday morning.

After making landfall in North Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane on Monday evening, Isaias then weakened into a tropical storm and moved up the American Atlantic coast . Downgraded to a post-tropical depression late Tuesday evening, it has now reached Canada where it is expected to dissipate on Thursday, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
A tornado devastated a mobile home in North Carolina, killing two people, said state governor Roy Cooper. Two other people were killed by fallen trees in their vehicle, one in New York City and the other in Maryland.
In Delaware, an octogenarian was found dead under a large tree branch near her house.
About three million people were still affected by power outages Wednesday morning, especially in the states of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, according to the poweroutage.us site.
