We're about to find out.
Most of you likely know who Tim Tebow is. I'm thinking not as many of you know who Merril Hoge is. Let me help because I suspect both of them are going to be in the news in the coming days but first, let's lead with the good news for Mr. Tebow:
Former Florida quarterback and Heisman winner, Tim Tebow, has been hired as a college football analyst for the SEC Network launching in August 2014. Through a multi-year agreement, Tebow’s primary role will be as an analyst for SEC Nation, the network’s traveling pregame show that will originate from a different SEC campus each week beginning August 28, 2014. In the months leading up to launch and after, he will contribute to a variety of ESPN platforms including SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and the network’s Heisman Trophy coverage, offering in-depth perspective as a legendary Southeastern Conference player.
On Monday, Jan. 6, Tebow will make his first appearance as an ESPN analyst during pregame coverage
of the 2013 VIZIO BCS National Championship. He will contribute to the 9 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter, College Football Live (3 p.m.) and College GameDay Built by The Home Depot (7 p.m.). He will also be part of studio coverage for the new College Football Playoff (semifinals and championship game), which begins next season.

I wonder however how the aforementioned Mr. Hoge is feeling about the move.

In a roundtable discussion on Monday morning'sSportsCenter, ESPN analyst Merril Hoge went on a rant about New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, saying that he's "as phony as a three-dollar bill" and that the New York Jets didn't realize "how bad Tim Tebow was" when they traded for him.
Fellow analyst Ron Jaworski tries to defend Tebow's handling of his yearlong situation with the Jets while insider Adam Schefter attempts to relay a conversation he had with Tebow late Sunday night regarding theESPN New York report that he asked out of the Wildcat formation for the team's game with San Diego. While both are given time to make their points, they are just lulls between Hoge's fury-laden sound bites.
"He is not going to win for the Jacksonville Jaguars. All he will do is set the franchise back further if that is a possible feat," Hoge said. "This organization is down as far as you can get. The last person they need is a guy like this now that we're starting to see his true colors."
That wasn't Hoge's first time giving Tebow hell and I suspect, given Hoge's history, we'll hear more garbage from him on Tebow but for now, they're co-workers.
I find that pretty amusing.
