Released this Wednesday, September 11th in theaters, has The Wire convinced its first viewers? While it gets an average of 3.5 out of 5 from the press (24 reviews), and 3.6 out of 5 from the public, thanks to the 162 people* who have rated it to date (including 46 reviews), here is a small selection of viewer opinions.

The Wire, Daniel Auteuil's new film, was released in theaters this Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Presented at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in a Special Screening, the film knows how to maintain its suspense, until the last minute. The feature film is part of a tradition of film noir, with trial scenes. The film follows a lawyer and a father accused of the murder of his wife.

In this film we find Alice Belaidi, in a role very different from Un P'tit truc en plus, in which she played one of the educators, under the first name of Alice. The opportunity to see the actress in another register, more dramatic in which she already convinced, notably, in the series Hippocrate on Canal+.

Le Fil has a great cast: around Daniel Auteuil, Grégory Gadebois and Alice Belaïdi, we find Sidse Babett Knudsen, but also the singer Gaëtan Roussel for his first steps in cinema, Suliane Brahim and Isabelle Candelier.

They liked it

pierre jeanne (5 / 5): " Thanks to Daniel Auteuil for this superb film. A deep, intense story, a sustained rhythm, suspense until the final scene and an approach to justice that highlights the complexity of intimate conviction. A big bravo. "

Caro Cinema (4.5 / 5): " An excellent drama full of tension. As soon as the film starts, we are caught up in the story. A feeling of many feelings that mix together and this brings intensity. The acting is really subtle. "

christofe33 T (4 / 5) : " Magnificent, what twists and turns!!! The acting is intimate and the judicial universe immerses us in the story. "

They liked it less

vincent COLLIER (3.5 / 5): " A good film largely similar to Anatomy of a Fall, inspired by a true story and prepared for 3 years. Auteuil and Gadebois as always excellent... The staging is correct without being dazzling. "

Joce2012 (3 / 5) : " Unpretentious film about a criminal trial with an unexpected ending, some lengths, lack of vigor at times... "

Bart Sampson (2,5 / 5) : " The Wire is a film that wants to tick all the right boxes but fails to carry the viewer away given the artificial side of Auteuil's direction. Ultra classic in its script and direction, it offers a few surprises but we already have a little idea of the outcome halfway through the feature film. All that remains is the pleasure of seeing Sidse Babett Knudsen, the actor in "Borgen", as a wife stunned that her husband wants to defend an ideal culprit. "

In summary

The audience liked the tension and suspense of the film. The script is intense, as is the acting, which seems to have been appreciated by the Internet users who commented on the film on AlloCiné. The more reserved viewers found some lengths, and were not all carried away by the staging.

The Wire is currently in theaters.
