Is the New “PUNK” TV Series Worth Watching? YES. If You Get Punk.

For someone like myself who grew up with a healthy respect and understanding, affinity even, with punk music, the inclusivity of punk scenes, the roaring passion from the artists, their fearlessness in performance, intelligence in expression, birthing of social movements, the wild, charismatic characters...it was a thrill to hear the words and see footage of punk's legends and innovators in new docuseries " PUNK ".

Refer any idiot who tells you "punk is dead" to this series because it's clear punk is very much alive. It's just underground how it should be. INSPIRING stuff in this new series if you have any appreciation for people who go against the grain and create new norms, people who were upset with how plain and comfortable rock music was getting. Guys like Denzel Curry know where it's at, taking influence from artists like Bad Brains and using that in modern ways.

Get ready to be inspired. No matter who you are or what you listen to, there is something for YOU to discover from this excellent series.

About the Show

PUNK is a four-part docuseries from executive producer John Varvatos and punk music legend Iggy Pop that features original interviews with America's punk pioneers and the U.K.'s most notorious bands, alongside a seamless blend of rare and unseen photos, gritty archival film and video and a crackling soundtrack of punk hits and misses. PUNK explores the music, the fashion, the art and the DIY attitude of a subculture of self-described misfits and outcasts.

Iggy Pop has been busy as of late, having released new full-length album "Freedom" just this week. Listen to "Sonali" below.
