But when asked on Twitter if he was being honest, he said: “No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.”
The first tweet from Musk would have been very exciting for United fans.

Manchester United has won the English championship a record 20 times. They have also won the European Cup three times, which is the most important club tournament in soccer.
