Apple iPhone 16 leaked camera design hints at major change

Apple iPhone 16 lineup is going to be launched by September this year. It is heard that Apple is going to bring several significant changes to their iPhone series this year. That includes everything from the model number and format to the design. And now a source has revealed the changes to the standard iPhone 16’s camera.

The camera setup of Apple iPhone 16 will see special changes

Tipster Majin Buu has one on his X (formerly Twitter) handle Image Shares show the rear camera chassis of the standard iPhone 16 model. The image shows a vertical camera layout, which signals a change from the diagonal design found in the current-generation iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models.

MacRumors verified the design and reported that the item seen in Mojin Bu’s post is the main camera chassis of the I-34 camera project, which will be released alongside the iPhone 16 later this year. This potential change isn’t entirely new for the company, as Apple has used vertical camera systems in the past on models like the iPhone X and iPhone 12.

A section of the tech community feels that Apple wants to expand its Spatial Video feature beyond the Pro model. Spatial Video enables users to view 3D video captures in Apple Vision Pro. Bringing this capability to the standard iPhone 16 will broaden its appeal to users, although Apple has yet to confirm this.

But note that this information has not been officially confirmed. While the material has been verified, it’s not definitive proof of Apple’s ultimate plans. Still, sources point to a significant change in the iPhone 16’s camera design. More information is expected to be released in the coming days.
