iPhone 14 Launch May Be Delayed Due to Surge in COVID Cases

Posted on the 05 May 2022 by Geetikamalik

Apple usually launches a new flagship iPhone series around the second week of September every year. The plan is also the same this year, until Covid hit China once again. And now, there is a little twist in the story.Until now, the iPhone 14 series is expected to be official in September, but a new report now shows several delays in the launch. This technology giant is expected to launch four new iPhone models this year, including iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The report has not revealed how much launch delays. There is no special launch schedule available for now.

The report shows that the launch of the iPhone 14 can be postponed because manufacturing has been influenced by restrictions due to the recent surge in the Covid-19 case in China, which is the largest manufacturing and assembly center for Apple.Covid-19 cases that increased in some parts of China forced local locks or restrictions reportedly affected many Apple suppliers and supply chain partners. The ongoing semiconductors also have an impact on the manufacturing of iPhone 14.

In recent weeks, many Apple suppliers have been forced to close or limit production due to increased COVID-19 cases in China and other countries. This is likely to result in late delivery of components for iPhone 14 and in turn has an impact on shipping. The upcoming iPhones usually enter mass production in May – June every year, but this year the process has been postponed. Apple suppliers in Shanghai and the surrounding area, however, give priority to restart and gradually continue production.

In 2022, Apple speculated to launch four iPhones in two sizes. IPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.1 -inch screen and iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7 -inch screen. The four iPhones are expected to be powered by the A16 bionic chipset, which is said to have only a slight increase in A15 Bionic.
