iPhone 12: The Highest-profile First-gen MagSafe Accessories Are Here

Apples Telephone 12 is out and with him comes a big new addition: MagSafe. The function doubles the power throughput of the standard wireless Qi charging on iPhones (15 watts versus 7.5 watts) and a magnetic closure to optimize the placement on the back of the phone - similar to the magnetic charger on the iPhone Apple Watch.

Of course, if you have a magnet that can center a clip-on charger, that magnet can also be used to attach other types of accessories to the iPhone 12 (shadows of late - and not so great - Moto Mods). The iPhone maker may also have plans to use the magnet system as a means of having that iPhone Reverse wirelessly charges other accessories to like AirPodsThis is similar to a feature found on the latest Samsung Galaxy and OnePlus phones. Your guess is as good as ours, but one thing is guaranteed: with Apple licensing MagSafe to third-party manufacturers like Belkin (see below), expect a flurry of MagSafe accessories to come soon.

One limitation, however, is that Effect of the MagSafe charger on credit cards.
