Nokia Philippines has introduced today another member of its Asha range of smartphones. This time it has a dedicated Facebook button built into it. The Nokia Asha 205 is the first Nokia phone that has a built-in Facebook button “designed for people who want the fastest, one-click access to popular Facebook features”.

Aware of Facebook’s dominance in connecting people around the world, Nokia has collaborated with Facebook for this feature.

Javier Olivan, head of growth, engagement and mobile
for Facebook.

“We are focused on delivering the best Facebook
experience to as many people as possible and our
partnership with Nokia perfectly complements our
strategy of giving people around the world a rich
Facebook experience for keeping in touch with
their friends.”

With a touch of a button, people can easily access other features and functions of Facebook using the Asha 205. The Asha 205 is targeting the entry-level market with its price range below P3K. Aside from the Facebook button, the Asha 205 is one of the first two phones (the other is Asha 206) that has the SLAM sharing technology of Nokia.

The Asha 205 is a Dual-SIM QWERTY phone with 2.4-inch display. It has bluetooth but no WiFi connectivity and is relying on GPRS/EDGE radio signals. On standby mode, its  1020 mAh BL-5C battery pack can stay up to 608 hours or 25 days using 2G.

Being a member of the Asha group, this phone is using the Series 40 Asha platform. Its camera is only 0.3mp and has no flash. Basically, this phone is for messaging and engaging with your friends. Click here for the full specs.
