Into It. Over It. has shared new single ‘Living Up to Let You Down’ ahead of the release of long-awaited new album ‘Figure’ on 18 September (pre-order here). Evan says the new record is ‘about trying to make peace with poor decisions that I’ve made and and how I can try to reconcile as much as I can, and what I can’t reconcile, how I’m going to cope with that moving forward, and what I can do to be better to the people around me.”

Opening in restrained ‘New North Side Air’ fashion, the drums kick in as Evan talks about a therapeutic journey that may have saved his life: ‘Cut me loose. A nine hour excuse. A sunset visit to the reddest of States’. There’s an autobiographical tone amidst the emo guitar stylins as he looks back on his actions with raw sadness and emotion (‘Tattoos, new boots and a noose. Now just reminders of the city you hate’) and ponders how things change as you grow older (‘It’s well spun for those who turn 21 but getting older doesn’t brighten the bait’). There’s even a burst of Beatles-esque melody in the melancholy delivery ofSo quick to strike up a tune, on every evening where I carry us home. We just sing along but the feeling’s gone’.
