Interview with Jacob Hopkins – Boy Vampire and Authority MemberWe’ve all been speculating what a small boy as a vampire would be like, and one who seems to have a lot of power in the Vampire Authority. Since he has probably been around for a long time, his looks must be extremely deceiving. It’s an intriguing notion that I’m glad True Blood is pursuing.

Young actor Jacob Hopkins is the actor who plays the part and below is part of an interview with Jacob who about his character of “Alexander Drew.”

You play a young vampire in True Blood, tell me about your character?
I play Alexander Drew. He is described as impetuous vamp who likes to taunt others. He is basically a trouble maker. He was turned at the age of nine. So I’m like an old man stuck in a little kid’s body. But if you want to talk authority, I’ve got authority – I get to taunt the big guys – I’m that important!

The show is aimed at much older audience, are you allowed to watch it at all? If not, how did you prepare for the role?
Well, in human years, of course not! I am not allowed to watch the show. My dad is an actor and my acting coach and he really prepared me for the role. Not to mention, I love vampires. I have books about them and I am very fascinated with them. When I found out I booked the role, I couldn’t stop reading about vampires!

What’s been your highlight of working on the show?
My favorite part was wearing my fangs. When I put them in my mouth I said, ‘Now I really feel like a real vampire.’

True Blood mainly revolves around vampires. If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be and why?
I would be The Eye of Sauron from Lord of Rings because nothing is brave enough to face him.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
I would have the power of super-speed so I could run on water.
