Beis Din Tzedek of Bnei Braq, founded by Rav Nissim Karelitz and today led by Rav Sariel Rosenberg and Rav Yehuda Silman issued an interesting, and I think unusual, psak regarding Chaim Walder.
Walder, to remind you, was recently exposed in an investigative article as having been a molester. He hasnt [yet?] had his day in court, so people are divided in how to relate to him and his books.
The beis din was asked if it is permitted to continue reading Walder's books (though Walder is left unnamed), considering he has been an educational figure due to his work and his books yet has now bee accused of serious crimes.
Rav Sariel Rosenberg and Rav Yehuda Silman signed a letter in response paskening that if he actually did what he is accused of it would be prohibited to read his books, as reading his books would be a form of support for him. Yet, as of now, we don't have that clarified, it would be appropriate to not read his books until the matter will be clarified properly.
