Rav Ahron Feldman, Rosh Yeshiva of Ner Israel in Baltimore, is in Israel and paid a visit to Rav Moshe Shternbuch, Raavad of the Eida Hachareidis.
Rav Feldman asked Rav Shternbuch how to daven in these times - should we daven for the success of the State of Israel - what nusach should be used?
Rav Shternbuch answered that we should daven that the name of Hashem will be sanctified across the world and that no Jew should suffer.
Rav Shternbuch mused - it would seem the two are a contradiction, and how can they exist together? We are not the guardians of that - that is not our problem and do not need to explain it or figure out how they go together.source: Haredim10
