Instagram Largest Upgrade

Posted on the 12 December 2012 by Juntar @juntar

Photo-sharing site–Instagram has just announced its biggest upgrade since the site was revamped over a year ago in an attempt to keep its users and devoid any attempts from micro-blogging site–Twitter to take some of its subscribers.

Twitter announced on Monday its new capabilities to edit and use filters for any images uploaded to its site before tweeting. Twitter’s move is in response to the withdrawal of Instagram’s support to “Twitter cards” which allows users to see the uploaded images on Instagram directly at the Twitter messages.

Instagrams wanted to direct its users to its site rather than seeing pictures on Tweeter. The action is for the monetization of Instagram. But the action fueled intense rivalry between social network giant–Facebook and Twitter via Instagram. Facebook owns Instagram after a $700-million deal early this year.

Some of the improvements in Instagram includes new filter, a redesigned camera for iOS, improved tilt-shift and these features, according to its official web site:

  • News Feed redesign that’s easier to digest, in addition to larger images.
  • Beautiful new welcome screen design.
  • Infinite scroll on user profiles and other grid views.
  • Filtered photos are now saved to a separate album called “Instagram” in the iOS camera roll.
  • Foursquare button on location pages that opens the Foursquare application, or mobile website, with details about the venue.
